06/22 Opscode Ticket Triage

After taking a week off for Velocity slacking and the opscode.com site
relaunch, we are back with what Dan DeLeo has so aptly named…THE
TRIAGETACULAR!

In addition to the usual triage of the Chef and Cookbook projects, we
also started working through the backlog of knife-rackspace tickets!

— Opscode Chef

To merge:

CHEF-1789 - LWRP resource should be able to specify the default action
for a resource
CHEF-1838 - Remove dead code from Chef::Runner
CHEF-1929 - ‘knife ssh’ should read config file for attribute,
ssh-user, identity-file
CHEF-1947 - Alphabetical sort of keys in JSON editor
CHEF-1956 - We should upgrade jQuery to 1.5.2 and remove old jQuery
and jquery.livequery plugin
CHEF-2312 - webui doesn’t show fully expanded run list as expected

Other:

CHEF-1890 - include support for SELINUX filesystem labels
reopened, branch missing
CHEF-1948 - Switch from json gem to yajl-ruby gem
reopened, need to do some performance testing to compare the yajl-ruby
and JSON gems

— knife-rackspace

To merge:

KNIFE_RACKSPACE-1 - Improve knife rackspace server delete docs
KNIFE_RACKSPACE-3 - Username configuration directive for knife
rackspace reported incorrectly
KNIFE_RACKSPACE-5 - Fog.credentials Support
KNIFE_RACKSPACE-9 - Fog Service Errors
KNIFE_RACKSPACE-11 - Error with Knife Rackspace Server List using fog 0.8.2

Other:

KNIFE_RACKSPACE-12 - fog 0.8.2 doesn’t currently work with knife-rackspace
closed, duplicate of KNIFE_RACKSPACE-11

— Opscode Cookbooks

To merge:

COOK-524 - Allow bluepill cookbook to handle multiple monitored app
COOK-525 - chef-client::service when using bluepill does not fork,
leading to bluepill not monitoring it correctly
COOK-530 - aws cookbook doesn’t save attributes with chef 0.10.RC.0
COOK-533 - apt_repository resource doesn’t support deb and deb-src
simultaneously
COOK-535 - Wordpress should do a recursive create of the directory

COOK-539 - passenger_apache2 cookbook - use --auto for installation
COOK-548 - FreeBSD support in apache2 cookbook
COOK-553 - FreeBSD support in the python cookbook

COOK-571 - ssh_known_hosts breaks on bootstrap (0.10+)
COOK-574 - chef-server metadata declares wrong recipes
COOK-576 - Passenger cookbook doesn’t compile Apache module when
specifying Passenger 3
COOK-579 - Unable to disable “default” VirtualHost
COOK-580 - iptables cookbook robustness
COOK-581 - import modules in powershell scripts lwrp
COOK-590 - RabbitMQ is not accessible locally
COOK-594 - pxe_dust needs to add new machines to chef

closed, already merged and released.
COOK-549 - apache_conf definition doesn’t chmod files
reopened, fix appears to be incorrect
COOK-550 - FreeBSD support in bluepill cookbook
reopened, alternate fix suggested
COOK-551 - FreeBSD support in the emacs cookbook
reopened, alternate fix suggested

We just didn’t get that far down the list [0] during this week’s triage. We should definitely hit it next week though.
