5/2 Opscode Code Review

We’ve been interating on Chef 0.10.10 release candidates. There are
over 125 closed tickets in this release, so there’s a lot of new code
and fixed bugs.

So you should definitely install it today in your testing environment.
We fixed a couple regressions today so we’re looking at a Monday
release.

CHEF-3054 - Route provider route deletion action does not work
CHEF-3076 - Pathname.new blows up when @current_user does not exist
and does not have #home (bug was introduced by CHEF-3033)
CHEF-3063 - Bootstrap script for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
CHEF-3052 - knife node edit will create a new node when the name is changed
COOK-634 - application cookbook should be updated to use LWRPs (vs
clever recipe loading)
COOK-1243 - application_java cookbook
COOK-1244 - application_nginx cookbook
COOK-1245 - application_php cookbook
COOK-1246 - application_python cookbook
COOK-1247 application_ruby cookbook
COOK-797 - Cloudkick Cookbook should Provide Chef Resources
COOK-1194 - Allow nginx installation method to be defined via
attributes. Cleanup attribute usage in source installation.
COOK-1196 - convert maven lwrp attributes to use snake_case rather
than CamelCase
COOK-1200 - Java cookbook should remove sun-java6-jre on Ubuntu
systems before install Oracle Java

Other:
COOK-1064 - Add tunable settings for postgresql
Reopened - Backward compatibility with old attributes?
COOK-1113 - Remove unnecessary use of “mysql COMMAND” from
service[mysql] on <= lucid
Reopened - This package uses Upstart and should be configured accordingly
COOK-1185 - Update Jira recipe to 5.x version
Reopened - Breaks remote mysql server support of previous version
COOK-1197 - Ark cookbook should be added to opscode-cookbooks/ as
the maven cookbook depends on it
Yup - Progress made
