I filed a bug about 7 months ago, about how the Git resource provider
doesn’t handle annotated tags properly:

Was curious if there were any thoughts on when this might be corrected?

Opscode doesn't have work planned on the git provider, so the answer
is likely when it "itches" someone in the community enough to scratch
it. Opscode doesn't prioritize bugs by age, but rather triages them
internally based on many variables like how many people a bug is
affecting and how hard it is to work around it.
