# Chef client -o "recipe should not do node save

Hi ,

i run chef-client-o "recipe[xy] on my node , but then at the end of the run  
the recipe is added under the runlist on the node, i believe as part of the  
chef client node.save operations it happens,

is there a way to avoid it ?

Manoj,

This was a topic of discussion on this list before, and reported here:  
[https://tickets.opscode.com/browse/CHEF-3506](https://tickets.opscode.com/browse/CHEF-3506)

The outcome is that in a future release, -o will not save the override  
run\_list back to Chef Server.
