on a side note, you can try using lxc with setarch ( linux-utils) provide
i386 emulation to run chef-server in side a container. I was able to run
chef server inside a container, but i dont know how it will react to
setarch. i can share the lxc related details on chefserver
installation/automation, but you have to test the setarch bit.
