I had an AWS instance running chef-solo run out of diskspace yesterday, and
chef has been failing runs ever since with the error message:
Failed to acquire lock. Held by (Running)
Which isn’t very informative. I also can’t seem to find a lockfile for
chef-solo anywhere and chef definitely isn’t running.
Version is chef-solo 10.24.4 and the OS is Ubuntu 12.04.2 server

Nevermind -- found the lockfile, it was being written out by a chef
runscript to a custom location.
