Ohai Chefs!

It’s been some time since our last release of the `datadog` cookbook. It’s time for version 2.2.0!

Lots of great features in this release. We’ve added a slew of updates, as well as plenty of testing around templates being generated correctly.
We dropped testing support for versions of Chef 10.x & Ubuntu 10.04 due to End Of Life timelines for these releases, and focus on Chef 11 & 12.

There is also a minor release of `chef-handler-datadog` that now allows installation on versions above 12.x, as well as support for setting proxy config for outbound calls during a Chef run.

One main focus for 2.2.0 is support of Windows, along with ongoing test coverage improvements.

See the most recent cookbook here: [https://supermarket.chef.io/cookbooks/datadog](https://supermarket.chef.io/cookbooks/datadog)

(note: apparently the GitHub badges aren’t working in the readme, no way to fix that without cutting another release)

Best,
-Mike & Datadog crew

Ohai Chefs!

It’s been some time since the last release of the Datadog cookbook, and we’ve released 2.3.0 with a lot of fun changes!

There’s 10+ features and added support for new checks, and some updates to older ones. Some highlights:

- Cassandra versions 1.x and 2.x are now supported with a `version` tag to get the correct template
- Support for Redis’ `COMMANDSTATS` is now available to get deeper visibility into what commands are being run in a given redis instance
- Supplying `tags` to the Datadog Agent config can now be provided as a Hash, allowing for layering from cookbooks, environments and roles

There’s been significant efforts in automated testing - mostly porting slow kitchen tests to fast spec tests for template generation and validation.

See the full changelog here: [https://supermarket.chef.io/cookbooks/datadog/versions/2.3.0#changelog](https://supermarket.chef.io/cookbooks/datadog/versions/2.3.0#changelog)

Big thanks to all of our contributors who help make this better!

Best,
-M

Ohai Chefs!

Version 2.4.0 of the datadog cookbook was just released, primarily to address a broken template behavior when using `postgres` monitoring.

This also includes support for new checks, namely the `directory` and `dns_check` recipes.
