# How can I work with chef without installing Management console?

Hi

I want to use open source version of chef. I went ahead and installed Chef server. When I am browsing “[https://ip](https://ip)”, Chef server redirects me to “Are You Looking For the Chef Server?” page. How do I download Chef DK in this situation? What should be my next step?

CHEFDK is downloaded from here:  
[https://downloads.chef.io/chef-dk/](https://downloads.chef.io/chef-dk/)

and not from the chefserver. Since you probably have installed the open source version of Chef Server 12, you won’t get an UI
