**Chef Infra Client**

_Last week we shipped Infra Client 17.4.38 to resolve a regression that caused failures in some very old crusty HWRP style resources. This update also shipped better AWS EC2 metadata support, some minor log improvements, security updates to openssl and libarchive and better archive support in the archive\_file resource_ [Chef Infra Client 17.4.38 Released!](https://discourse.chef.io/t/chef-infra-client-17-4-38-released/20243)

_The team managed to merge improvements to knife-windows to allow storing the client key in the windows cert store and we merged hashi vault support for the secrets helper_

_This week we're working on hashi vault support using token auth, akeyless secrets support, and updates to the compliance phase_

**Chef Inspec**

_The Chef InSpec team has been working on:_

- _Integrating_ cookstyle _with_ inspec check
- _Fixing tag parsing, a regression introduced with the --tags option_
- _Fixing handling of git repos whose default branch has been renamed from_ master
- _Fix for_ security\_policy _when returning a string of local groups_
- _We made a release!_

**Chef Workstation**

[_@tas50_](https://chefcommunity.slack.com/team/U1CDF6JE6) _Also I wanted to give a heads up that Test Kitchen is going to move from_ master _branches to_ main _branches in 2 weeks to align with other Chef projects. There should be zero impact here to anyone consuming those projects and to outstanding PRs._
