# Message: Failed to complete #destroy action

Getting this error on kitchen destroy.  
How can i fix this??

$ kitchen destroy XXXXXXX  
-----\> Starting Kitchen (v1.6.0)  
-----\> Destroying ...

> > > > > > ------Exception-------  
> > > > > > Class: Kitchen::ActionFailed  
> > > > > > Message: Failed to complete #destroy action: [conflict: unable to delete XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (cannot be forced) - image is being used by running container XXXXXXXXX

Looks like you’re using docker and the container couldn’t be deleted.

You can run:

docker kill XXXXXXXXX && docker rm XXXXXXXXX

That should kill and remove the container
