# Ohai 0.6.12.rc.2

I’ve pushed another release candidate for Ohai 0.6.12, this is RC 2. I  
believe I have resolved the regressions Laurent found in OHAI-325 [1],  
but at the cost of adding a dependency to do a little IP math.

We also slipped in OHAI-311 [2] which fixes Ruby 1.9.3 warnings and  
OHAI-331 [3] which moved Amazon Linux into the RHEL platform\_family.

We’ll let this sit for a while to see how this change works out for  
people. It feels a bit heavy. Please help test this out with “gem  
install ohai --pre”

are we going to get OHAI-310 in this release?

Very doubtful, particularly because we still lack a fix that does not  
impose a two second delay on everyone else outside of EC2. I'd really  
like to see this and its Rackspace cousin get fixed, but for now we  
need to get Ohai out so we can get to Chef 0.10.10 and get Omnibus  
released.
