Opscode-manage Displayed Times

I am new to Chef, and noticed that in the opscode-manage and
opscode-reporting, the times displayed apear to be in a different timezone
than my servers. I have confirmed the times are correct on the servers
themselves. Is there a setting that I can manipulate within opscode-manage
or opscode-reporting to display the times in relation to my time zone?

Hi Alan,

Currently Chef Manage and Reporting report all times in UTC and there
isn't an option to change it.

You could make a request at feedback.chef.io for making this a
configurable option if you'd like.

Thanks,

Mark Mzyk

Please don’t. Having to maintain code and time compatibility across multiple time zones will be much safer if it’s left in a consistent format.

Display time and stored time aren’t necessarily the same thing.

That’s right. And adding another set of locally and likely inconsistently tuned configurations to confuse reporting and log analysis is asking for trouble.

I'm not overly attached to having the option. However, I don't really see
the problem. If the choice is there, use it or don't. Saying it doesn't fit
some peoples workflow, and so is a bad idea isn't really great logic in my
opinion. I submitted the request. Up to the developers. Thanks for the
input though, some good points.
