I had to edit my path variable in the registry for it to take the notepad++ path out, and it WIORKED!!!

That was a good suggestion, but removing notepad++ from the PATH environment didn't help.

No problem, happy to help.

The Chef Client MSI tries to set PATH, so I'm assuming either we or
Wix have some bug with respect to parsing paths that have "+"
characters.
