How do you preserve permissions with the remote\_directory resource? If
it can’t be done with remote\_directory, is there another resource that
can do a recursive copy and preserve permissions?

Once a cookbook is imported into Chef the items in the files directory no

owners and permissions that vary in a directory structure, I would probably
use `tar`.
