# Testing chef-vault in kitchen without the deprecated chef-vault cookbook

Hi,

I used to test cookbooks that utilize chef-vault with the chef-vault cookbook and `node['chef-vault']['databag_fallback']` enabled in my `kitchen.yml`.  
I know that the chef-vault cookbook is deprecated, but I did not find information on how to replace this functionality.  
Can someone enlighten me please.
