# Upgrading Chef Server

Hi,

We are planning to upgrade our chef server to 12 from 11. So Im looking forward to get suggestions on what all perquisites need to be taken avoid issues , as there are some major changes in structure of both versions.

Helps would be appreciated.

I think this chef docs link [Upgrade to Chef Server 12](https://docs.chef.io/upgrade_server.html) would do everything for you.
