Ohai Chefs! We are delighted to announce the release of some new features in Chef Delivery. These features are released as of 0.4.199, which has been promoted to stable and is available for upgrade via delivery-cluster.
First, Delivery now supports notifications for pipeline events via Slack and email. Slack integration can be configured at either the org or project level. Email requires integration with an SMTP server you provide, and allows end users of Delivery to opt into email notifications via a new “watch” button on project pages. Emails are organized by category (Review, Deliver, and Observe) allowing users to select the types of notifications they want to receive for each project.
Second, Delivery can now be deployed in a primary/standby configuration for local disaster recovery (DR). Information about setting up a standby server and enabling replication can be found here. This feature also includes a new status endpoint to monitor the health of your Delivery cluster and the replication processes used for DR. Make sure you grab the latest delivery-cluster when you are ready to set up the DR configuration.
In addition to these new features, we are constantly improving Delivery with minor usability enhancements and bug fixes. We encourage you to upgrade often. As always, we welcome your feedback and invite you to contact us directly or participate in our feedback forum. Thanks for using Chef Delivery!
