Knife ec2 server create in a vpc

I’m able to nicely create my server… but the ec2 node attributes are not set (ami_id, instance_id… etc). actually… the ec2 node doesn’t exist at all!

I can’t be the first person to run into this problem… any advice out there?

I’ve been setting these manually through the role… but there has to be a better way!
