Restore Users from Chef 11 Ent to Chef 12 (users are ldap users)

Is there a way (I have used knife-backup but it appears to only work with open source) to migrate chef 11 enterprise ldap users over to chef 12?

I have everything migrated over successfully save the users. Ugh.

Thanks for any tips or info.
