Hey all -
Possibly a bit of a newbish question, but I can’t see how to search
for Nodes with an Attribute set via a Role.
I’m primarily interested in the WebUI, here, but an example of how to
achieve it with knife would also be appreciated.
I’m assuming that the best place to store Attributes that apply to a
set of Nodes is in a Role.
Specifically, in this instance, I’m trying to store a customerName Attribute.
Am I correct in thinking this and, if so, how do I get the WebUI to
return (via search, or otherwise - I don’t care) a view
of the Nodes that have a specific customerName value?
I’m aware that I can search for the Roles that contain this
key:value pair, and I can find (via knife, at least) the Nodes that
have a specific Role in their runlist, but neither of these seem to be
what I’m looking for.
Any thoughts?

As soon as the nodes run, you can just search for the attribute.
