Which deploy resource should I use?

Can anyone explain the difference between Ezra’s
chef-deployhttp://github.com/ezmobius/chef-deployand Chef’s
deploy resource http://wiki.opscode.com/display/chef/Deploy+Resource?

It looked like the latter was imported from the former yet Ezra’s gem is
still being developed.

One big difference is that the chef deploy resource allows you to put
chef resources in your deploy hooks ezra's chef-deploy does not.

Ezra's chef-deploy is mainly in use at EY. I imagine they will become
one and the same when EY updates Chef at some point in the future,
given their shared ancestry and Ezra's awesome-ness.
