As a part of the deployment of the Habitat Depot on Tuesday afternoon 9/16 the requirements for GitHub Personal Access Tokens have changed.
Previously we required your GitHub Personal Access Token only to have the scope of user:email. After the deployment we now require your token to have the full user scope. In the case that you are receiving 401 Unauthorized errors during attempts to run hab pkg upload or other Habitat Depot interactions, please verify that you have updated your Token to the appropriate scope.
For the time being we have pushed an update to the Habitat Documentation, and are working on improving the error handling in these 401 messages.
