We’ve isolated what looks like a cross-compat issue between Chef 12 and 13 where cookbooks uploaded using a Chef 13-based workstation cause Chef 12 clients to error. As the current ChefDK is still using Chef 12 this probably won’t affect the vast majority of people but if you use the chef-client packages on workstations or CI to do cookbook uploads, please refrain from upgrading to Chef 13 at this moment. If you’ve already uploaded a cookbook from a Chef 13 workstation, you can delete the cookbook version as per normal and re-upload from a Chef 12 workstation.
