Chef Automate Release 1.6.95

We are delighted to announce release 1.6.95 of Chef Automate. The release is available for download from https://downloads.chef.io/automate.

Important Upgrade Notes

This is a minor bug fix release. If you are upgrading from 1.5.x or earlier, please review the detailed upgrade notes for the more impactful release that preceded this one.

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed an issue where automate-ctl delete-node was returning 400 errors
  • Fixed an issue where automate-ctl node-summary was returning 400 errors, and added UUID to the results returned by this command
  • Removed the Environment and Role filter dropdowns from the Nodes page; these parameters have moved to the search bar on that page
  • Resolved an issue where a backup/restore upgrade from 0.8.5 or earlier required additional migration steps for a subset of customers; these steps are no longer required if upgrading to this release

We encourage you to upgrade often. As always, we welcome your feedback and invite you to contact us directly or participate in our feedback forum. Thanks for using Chef Automate!

Please note that an earlier version of these release notes stated that customers using Chef Backend for high availability of Chef Server should not upgrade to this release of Chef Automate. This dependency was incorrect; customers can safely upgrade to this release. We will have a new release of Chef Backend coming soon that includes the upgrade to Elasticsearch 5.x, but this is not a requirement for compatibility with Chef Automate 1.6.x.
