Ohai!

We are very excited to announce that Chef packages and related
dependencies have been accepted into Ubuntu’s Karmic Koala release!
This is a great milestone in the effort to get Debian/Ubuntu packages
of Chef available.

The full scoop is on the Opscode Blog:

http://blog.opscode.com/2009/08/chef-available-in-ubuntu-karmic-koala.html

The primary ticket for tracking is:

http://tickets.opscode.com/browse/CHEF-63

Instructions are on the Wiki:

As mentioned in the blog, we’re working on backporting to other
releases, syncing with Debian, and setting up our own APT repository
to support future releases of Chef and friends. Packages from Karmic
"should" work on other versions but it is not well tested yet. We’re
working on it, and will keep everyone posted.
