Chef server

#1

What am I doing wrong here? I had this working on my staging/qa environment
and now in my prod environment I can get chef to install

Ran the following:

OS - RHEL5

wget
https://opscode-omnibus-packages.s3.amazonaws.com/el/5/x86_64/chef-11.8.0-1.el5.x86_64.rpm

rpm -ivh chef-11.8.0-1.el5.x86_64.rpm

cd /opt/chef

chef-server-ctl reconfigure

  • chef-server-ctl: command not found*

Am I missing something?

Nikhil,

It appears that you’ve installed the Chef client, and not the Chef server.
Try downloading the Chef server from this link:
chef-server-11.0.8-1.el5.x86_64.rpmhttps://opscode-omnibus-packages.s3.amazonaws.com/el/5/x86_64/chef-server-11.0.8-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
