Hi,
I’m pleased to announce the second release candidate of Chef Vault 3.0. This includes considerable performance benefits, especially for larger organisations. It also lays the ground work for one of the major features of 3.0, which is splitting the keys data bag into individual items. This should make Chef Vault much more scalable.

It would be great if you all could test this. The easiest way is to simply run chef gem install chef-vault --pre on your workstation (almost all the changes are related to management of vaults).

I’d be especially interested in hearing from @8bitbrad if this pre-release solves his “solo” vault issues, since there are improvements there.

I am very pleased to report that this pre-release does solve my ‘solo’ vault issues. I have tested every case that has been an issue for me and they all work correctly now.
