I was wondering if there is an omnibus bootstrap template for use with the
(btw really awesome) knife-server plugin?

Hey Mike,

thanks for the prompt reply. Guess that means that omnibus installers
were for the chef-client only. Hmm, thought that there were omnibus
installers for Chef Server (10.x) as well...

well the s3 repo has few rpms and debs for chef server full, the rpms
didn't work for me (el6, x86_64), neither its mentioned in the wiki. i
guess its still wip

Correct, they're work in progress and unreleased. You can build your own packages from the same tool we are using, see the following Chef Software, Inc. · GitHubhttp://github.com/opscode projects:

omnibus-ruby
omnibus-software
omnibus-chef

The ruby project DSL replaces the older Clojure based tool.
