Trouble installing opscode-manage on CentOS 6.4

I just installed chef 12 RC4-1 on a Centos 6.4 box with all current updates.

The install goes fine, but when I attempt to install opscode-manage via:

chef-server-ctl install opscode-manage

I get an error with the packagecloud.io yum repo:

Mixlib::ShellOut::ShellCommandFailed

execute[yum-makecache-chef-stable]
(/opt/opscode/embedded/cookbooks/yum/providers/repository.rb line 55) had an
error: Mixlib::ShellOut::ShellCommandFailed: Expected process to exit with [0],
but received ‘1’
---- Begin output of yum -q makecache --disablerepo=* --enablerepo=chef-stable

STDOUT:
STDERR: https://packagecloud.io/chef/stable/el/6/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml:
[Errno 14] problem making ssl connection
Trying other mirror.
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository:
chef-stable. Please verify its path and try again
---- End output of yum -q makecache --disablerepo=* --enablerepo=chef-stable

Ran yum -q makecache --disablerepo=* --enablerepo=chef-stable returned 1

I’m guessing this is related to patches for POODLE. Can anyone confirm? Any
known workaround?

I’m trying to set up a demo to encourage my new employer to start using Chef,
and right now I’m dead in the water (no web UI == no demo)

Thanks,
Brian

Brian,

Perhaps but usually when I see that error it relates to a proxy or firewall
issue in that you can't download and install the package from packagecloud.

You can install locally with:

chef-server-ctl install NAME_OF_PACKAGE --path /path/to/package

$ chef-server-ctl install opscode-manage-1.6.2-1.el6.x86_64 --path /home/vagrant
