I saw that vCloud support was added to Chef around mid 2012

However, I can’t seem to find any knife plugins for vCloud. I had also hoped
to see support for vCloud’s metadata in ohai but it doesn’t seem to be
supported by the ohai cloud plugin yet. Am I missing something?
Knife-vsphere lets you create VMs and bootstrap them at least. I still spend a lot of time in vCenter but it definitely helps with creating new nodes.

Bluelock is a vsphere based public cloud . The knife plugin was developed
as knife-bluelock : http://github.com/opscode/knife-bluelock . Although
there isn't any ohai plugin yet.
Coincidently, we will begin to work on a generic vcloud plugin next week
