When will the upgrade for the Chef Infra Client version occur, and will the next version of Chef Infra Client include an upgrade to Ruby version 3.0.5?
We don't have a specific cadence to updates. They are released as bugfixes, security fixes, and potentialy new features are developed and the team determines it's in a good state for the next release. As far as ruby version goes a new update may or may not contain a ruby update for 3.0.x version in chef-client 17. Chef-client 18 is using ruby 3.1.x.
Thank you for response @Stromweld .we are already on the latest chef infra client 18.2.7 and the ruby version is 3.1.2 and we want to know when the ruby version is upgrade 3.1.3 or 3.1.4.
ah I see that will be an engineering decision when the next chef-client 18.x is released. There isn't any set schedules so I can't give you an exact date. There is some work that needs to be done to fix the pipelines before a release can happen.
