I couldn’t be more pleased to announce general availability of Chef Automate. The first release 0.5.1 is available for download at https://downloads.chef.io/automate/.
With Chef Automate we have introduced visibility features that enable comprehensive views of the state of your infrastructure fleet. Chef Automate also includes workflow capabilities taken from the product formerly known as Chef Delivery.
Details of a new command-line install process and complete product documentation are available at https://docs.chef.io/chef_automate.html. New tutorials are also online at https://learn.chef.io/tutorials/ and you can read more about the product at https://www.chef.io/automate/.
This release also makes available SAML authentication to Chef Automate (extensible to Chef Management Console if Automate is configured), including auto-provisioning of users via SAML. Details of that feature can be found at https://docs.chef.io/integrate_chef_automate_saml.html.
