Today is a great day for major cookbook releases. First AWS and now chef_client_updater with a major refactor in the 2.0 release. We listened when you said you wanted Windows support and support for updating older Chef clients and 2.0 delivers on both of those. We’ve refactored the cookbook from a custom resource to a LWRP, which can run on Chef client going back to 11.6 so now you can update your older Chef clients to the latest and greatest releases of Chef. We also reworked things to support Windows, which sounds minor, but actually requires some significant trickery.
