Chef Server 12.12.0 Released

Ohai Chefs!

We’re happy to announce that Chef Server 12.12.0 is now available for download[1]. We’ve included the highlights below, but please look at the complete release notes[2] and the changelog[3] for additional details.

Release Highlights

  • solr4 now uses java’s built-in log rotation, and a new tunable is exposed which allows you to turn it off.
  • A bug in chef-server-ctl backup has been fixed, so that configuration files are now included. We recommend taking a new backup after upgrading to 12.12.0.
  • A new configuration option for oc-id that allows you to specify MTA host. See Release Notes for details.
  • ElasticSearch: Chef Server will now correctly respect the rows parameter when search is provided by ElasticSearch. If you are using ElasticSearch, this upgrade is required for multi-page search results to be handled correctly.
