We’ve just released version 1.4.0 of mixlib-log, the library Chef and
Ohai use for handling logging.
- Changes the default time format to iso8661 (CHEF-2161)
- Better development tooling (thanks Björn Albers!)
- Includes specs in the gem file for distribution packaging and
testing from the gem (e.g. rubygems-test)
The first item is the most meaningful to most of you, you’ll notice
that your logs change from something like this:
[Fri, 08 Jun 2012 07:52:10 -0700] INFO: *** Chef 10.12.0.rc.1 ***
To this:
[2012-06-08T14:51:49+00:00] INFO: *** Chef 0.10.10 ***
