I just cut a fresh release of Ohai, 8.6.0. The list of changes is pretty massive, but I’d encourage you all to check it out at https://github.com/chef/ohai/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md.
There’s a lot of people to thank, and we really appreciate all your efforts, but I’d like to make an especial mention to Shahul Khajamohideen for doing a tonne of work on our AIX, Solaris and Windows plugins, and Phil Dibowitz for a new filesystem plugin, which already works on Linux and OS X. It’d be great to get it hooked up for other platforms too, and we’d welcome contributions there.
This release also adds the long awaited Ohai configuration system, which is detailed in DOC_CHANGES.
As ever, this release is available on Rubygems and will be shipped in the next release of Chef, 12.5.0. If you run into any problems, please file bugs at our Github issue tracker.
