Howdy –
Running chef 0.9.14beta1, after invoking “shef -z”, “run_chef” returns
immediately – as compared to chef-client, which applies the recipes and
roles specified in the node’s run list.
Can anyone confirm either whether they also see this behavior or whether it
is intended?

Sorry for the late reply. This has been fixed in master and the 0.9-stable branch, so it will be fixed in the final release of 0.9.14.
