Status on Knife plugins?

Hi,

As I’ve written previously, we’ve had quite a few issues bootstrapping
Windows in the cloud, most caused by bugs/missing features in the knife
plugins.

There seems to be quite a few tickets where a fix is provided:

What are the plans for new releases of the knife plugins?

/Jeppe

The knife plugins are finally getting more Opscode Engineering love, we now have a team focused on them. We’re building a new continuous integration pipeline for testing the Opscode-supported knife plugins and working on a common base plugin (knife-cloud) that should reduce the amount of variation between standard plugin components. knife-rackspace added Windows support and Windows support will be included in knife-cloud and the CI testing.

Thanks,
Matt Ray

Thanks for the update, sounds like good plan. Any idea of an ETA?

Assuming this isn't just around the corner, are there any plans to make
an interim release of the existing plugins?

I can't give a firm ETA, but we are currently working on the CI pipeline and knife-cloud is on GitHub, it's just currently empty (development is happening on forks).

There will be maintenance releases of the Opscode-supported knife plugins in the meantime if necessary, but this effort is in progress and should firm up knife plugin support across the board.

Thanks,
