We are delighted to announce the availability of version 0.15.18 of Chef Workstation.
Bug Fixes
-
We fixed an issue with the macOS Catalina (10.15) notarization process. In Chef Workstation 0.15.6, users were seeing errors when trying to run
chef install
and other tools. These errors had a message similar to:terminated by signal SIGKILL (Forced quit))
. This type of error was caused byffi
attempts to load native bindings into insecure memory, which is disabled by default in MacOS Catalina. We added an entitlement to allow this loading to happen.Apple previously detailed updates to the notarization process that takes effect on February 3rd, 2020. You can read about the notarization requirements and process here.
Updated Components
- Updated
win32-service
from2.1.4
to2.1.5
. This version removes deprecation warnings about theffi
gem from being outputted on Windows. Thank you @Dreweasland for this fix!
