Introducing OpsUnit

Ohai Chefs!

By way of an introduction, I thought this list might be interested in this
recent blog post:
http://opsunit.com/blog/2013/09/03/obscure-languages-and-chef-resource-notifications/

Myself and my partner Alex have been long-time lurkers here. Whilst we’ve
been around Chef for a number of years, until now a lot of our efforts were
restricted by various contracts and NDAs.

Happily we’ve been able to form a consultancy: www.opsunit.com, with which
we help to take some of what we’ve learned running Chef at a reasonable
scale and complexity and pass it onto others.

Out ‘about’ page contains a talk that gives a good summary of our
experience and history: http://opsunit.com/about/ - the tl;dr version being
that we supported tens of millions of users on thousands of EC2 instances
managed by Chef, for a very large gaming company.

We very much hope to contribute a great deal more back to this community
than we’ve been able to so-far. We’ve a couple of interesting projects in
the works that we hope to be able to release soon, but until then we’re
both looking forward to interacting with you good folks!

Thanks,

Sam Pointer & Alex Greg, www.opsunit.com

Awesome! Glad you de-lurked.

Adam
