Chef Infra Client

- Resolved failures from running chef-client on some Windows systems.
- Compliance Phase: Improved detection of the audit cookbook when it is used for compliance reporting.
- chef-shell: Added support for loading configs in client.d directories - Thanks @jaymzh !
- Duplicate gems in our packaging have been removed to further shrink the package sizes and improve load time.

- OpenSSH Client on Windows can now be tested with the ssh_config and sshd_config resources. Thanks @rgeissert !
- The --reporter-message-truncation option now also truncates the code_desc field, preventing failures when sending large reports to Automate.

- Implementing Ruby 3 support
- Looking into splitting up the Google Cloud SDK gems in train (and thus as used by inspec-gcp ), now that Google is releasing individual gems
Chef Workstation

Workstation team is continuing to work through the backlog of issues. Upcoming fixes include supporting chef update when no lockfile is present; allowing cookbook files to be generated into subdirectories. Separately, work continues on the new Rollouts tracking feature.

Here’s the list of new releases in the past week:
- apt - 7.4.0: Sous Chefs Adoption
- chrony - 1.0.0: Sous Chefs Adoption which includes a small refactor and a variety of fixes
- grafana - 9.5.2: Fixed a bug where ldap and grafana had hard coded paths along with documentation fixes
- nginx - 11.2.0: Add file and folder mode overrides to nginx_config and nginx_site
- percona - 2.1.0: Fix error when granting multi-word privileges (ex. REPLICATION CLIENT ) to users through percona_mysql_user . Also remove support for Ubuntu 16.04
- tomcat - 4.1.0: Added Tomcat 10 support for tomcat_install
- vault - 5.0.0: Major refactor and update thanks to @@bmhughes. Seechangelog and upgrading doc for further details
- vcruntime - 2.1.0: Sous Chefs Adoption and update vc14 to 14.28.29325.2
- vcruntime - 2.2.0: Add norestart options to installers and also allow for 1638 return code
- yum - 6.0.0: Sous Chefs Adoption which also includes a set of fixes going back to 2018
- yum-epel - 4.1.0: Sous Chefs Adoption
We’re still working on properly importing the slew of cookbooks that got transferred last week. We made some progress this past week and hope to continue more! Here’s a list of currently open pull requests that have been recently updated that need some reviews
