We’re hosting a contest!
If you know Chef, you know we love our stickers! We’re inviting you to come up with our official ChefConf ’22 sticker. The theme this year is ‘Simplifying Complexity’. Come up with a concept and a tagline to compete for a chance to win some really cool prizes. Stay tuned for details!

  • Working on improving build order and rdep resolution for package builds
  • Bringing "base-plan" repos back into the core-plans mono repo
  • Fixed several bugs with rolling updates and adding test cases

Chef Workstation

Hi All! Here is what Workstation, Community Tools & Omnibus folks are working on

  • Workstation UI- Setting up locally running REST API service to reuse knife and chef-cli capabilities from UI.
  • Refactoring cookbook upload flow in knife to make it usable via API service in addition to CLI
  • Most recent Chef Workstation release 22.7.1006 isn't yet published to Chocolatey. We'll retry after their ongoing maintenance.
  • Assisting Chef Infra Client to resolve release / verify pipeline issues toward v18 release that supports Ruby 3.1

Sous Chefs

Sous Chefs:pyenv version 4.1.0 has been released:

  • Remove duplicate pyenv init from profile script, fixes "pyenv: cannot rehash: <...>/shims isn't writable" for system install

Also, @Xorima fixed our release system which was unfortunately broken due to an expired cert not getting updated

Cinc Updates

Cinc Project

  • Met with @seansith on Tuesday and walked him through how I do the rebuild for Cinc Server. It was quite a firehose
  • Still working on fixing the run-time issues with Cinc Server 15.0.9. Getting much closer, just need to find time to find all the fixes
