Upcoming Chef releases

#1

We’re going to start trying to use the roadmap in JIRA [1] to plan Chef releases. Depending on how it goes, we’ll adjust accordingly.

We’re working up a patch release for Chef 10 to be released in early May. If there’s something you’d like to see make it in, please make sure that there is a pull request against the 10-stable branch.

The next Chef 11 client minor/feature release will be a month or two out as we finish up work on whats on the roadmap. There will likely be a patch release in the near future to fix a couple issues that have come up.

There is currently a Chef 11 server release with a release candidate out [2], we’ll get that out soon after we’ve verified the fixes.

#2

Hey Bryan,

I hope that my pull request for
http://tickets.opscode.com/browse/CHEF-3950 makes it into Chef
10.26.0.

Chef 10 is about the only reason I have to pin RubyGems to 1.8.25, and
I really want to change this.
