Sorry if this has been brought up before… but I just notice that discourse
is munging my email. The "-- " that denotes my signature is starting is
stripped (but not the signature itself). A ton of empty newlines were inserted
at the beginning.
I guess I won’t bother to mention the the stripped PGP sigs… which is bad
enough, but the above is extra broken.
Can we fix this?
[ and yes I checked the faq, and didn’t see anything related ]

I know the Discourse team is working on it, you can track progress on https://meta.discourse.org/t/moss-roadmap-mailing-lists/36432 for the current round of “make Discourse more like a mailing list” features. They recently did a release with a bunch of improvements to mailing list behavior, but I’m not sure who controls our upgrade cycle right now. As for short term fixes, I think we’ve done just about all we can, I’ve taken to just not composing new posts via email unless really tiny. :-/

Thanks for the link, that's useful. I understand these thing take time and
knowing it's on the list is reasonable to me.
As to not emailing the mailing list, that's patently absurd. I'm not going to
format an email in a browser window. That's what $EDITOR is for. We're
engineers/sysadmins describing technical problems we had in the next terminal
window over, not tweens posting one-liners about our favorite musician.
