Important Update About ChefConf '22While registration for the event is going strong, we’ve recognized that many of our attendees have opted for virtual rather than in-person. This is for any number of reasons – travel restrictions, budgets and more. We want to meet our community where they are and have decided the ChefConf portion of Progress360 to a fully virtual format.We regret that this new plan means we aren’t able to offer the ChefConf After Dark events that we had previously advertised. But rest assured, the ChefConf team is hard at work planning an amazing virtual experience for the nearly 1000 virtual attendees who have signed up so far.If you haven't registered yet, go ahead and do so now!

  • Working to support Suse Server 12 SP5 in Automate HA
  • Working to fix compliance searches case insensitive
  • Working to create new compliance API for asset collection
  • Planning for next quarter work.

  • Improved delivery pipelines (deep-upgrade, deep-upgrade-backup-and-restore)

I was actually able to do some reviews and releases this week, so we have quite a few to list here

Here's the list of new releases in the past week:

  • fail2ban - 7.0.4: Document missing service attributes

  • git - 11.1.0

  • Standardise files with files in sous-chefs/repo-management

  • Update tested platforms

  • Update Windows version to 2.35.1

  • Update helpers to deal with 32/64bit

  • Switch git::package to use git_client for windows

  • Remove inclusion of git::default from git_config resource

  • Add password property to git_config resource which is required on Windows if running as a different user

  • Fix tests on MacOS and Windows

  • lvm - 6.0.2

  • CI: Remove use of Vagrant boxes from OSUOSL

  • CI: Fix loop file creation on Ubuntu 20.04

  • lvm - 6.1.0: Fix pvcreate and lvcreate to return an error if a valid signature was found on the device instead of waiting interactively for confirmation

  • nagios - 11.1.0: Remove 5 second munging of command timeouts

  • nodejs - 10.0.1

  • Standardise files with files in sous-chefs/repo-management

  • Default to using EL 9 repo for Fedora

  • CI: Remove Fedora from source suite

  • nodejs - 10.1.0: To ensure consistent environment between npm install and npm list, pass same environment variables

  • resolver - 4.1.0

  • Remove delivery and move to calling RSpec directly via a reusable workflow

  • Add the atomic_update property

  • Use MacOS 10.15 when using Vagrant testing

  • Update Linux platforms for testing

  • ruby_build - 2.3.0

  • Remove Delivery and move to calling RSpec directly via a reusable workflow

  • Update test build to use Ruby 3.0.4

  • Add Alma Linux & Rocky Linux / Replace CentOS 8 with CentOS Stream 8

  • Standardize kitchen.dokken.yml

  • Add support for Ubuntu 22.04

  • Remove use of yum-centos and replace with use of yum-config-manager to make it easier to work with Alma/Rocky

  • Install openssl@1.1 on MacOS

We also pushed out a few updates in our various terraform repos which resulted in me discovering several runs were failing due to API tokens not working. I fixed most of those so you might have noticed some changes to your sous chefs access (looks like a few folks removed themselves)
