Chef Habitat

mwrockx shared

Hello from Habitat!
This week's updates:

  • Investigating an on-prem data migration bug when updating on-prem services
  • Investigating supervisor strategies for ARM and we are experimenting with a concept of "native packages" See

Proposal: Native Packages, enabling Supervisor service support for platforms without packages. · Issue #8501 · habitat-sh/habitat

  • Fixing a potential supervisor deadlock in 1.6.513 on linux platforms. We have only seen this in our public builder environments and have not been able to reliably reproduce elsewhere. The fix is to update the jemalloc library. We strongly encourage those who are considering an update to 1.6.513 to hold off until the next release (today or tuesday).
  • Adding end to end tests for builder worker
  • Reverting a change added to 1.6.500 where we no longer allow service specific args to be used with hab sup run unles a package ident is included. This is unfortunately breaking some customers with systemd units that include these args. This revert will be included in the next release.

  • Cleaning up the code base to release a build of Chef-18
